A cup of words and coffee - repost
Today, as I wipe my mirror from the haze of my shower. I stared less than a minute and watch the person standing in front of me. I am no longer pretty. I am no longer holding the stars on my eyes. I am no longer the person I wished I was, the person I wished to become. I realize I am just another stranger firing questions and blames to the reflection that holds up the same name as mine. I realize I was tired. I was tired that no matter how long I try to rest, I will still wake up tired.
I don't understand how things go. I don't know how I got here.
All I know is, I am no longer beautiful the way I used to be. All I know is, I am no longer happy.

SHIFTING GEAR

reblogged from
http://workawesome.com/career/need-a-career-change/As a new year begins many things run through our heads. One such thing might be that you wonder if you are in the right job.
You’re not alone.
This is something a lot of people think about from time to time — more so at this time of year. You should know that there are ways in which to find out…and be fully satisfied in your career choice. All you need to do is ask yourself a few questions.
Think About What Drives You
The first thing you must take into consideration when deciding whether you are working in the right job is what drives you. What are your motivations? What are your future goals? What are your dreams? I know it can be difficult to get past the questions of what pays the most and what is the most secure position, however you need to place these questions on the backburner in order to fully focus on your passions and interests. Doing so will help open up careers that you may not have ever thought were possible. Here are some methods you can practice in order to find out what really drives you:
- Focus on those things that you really love to do. The things you have dreamed of doing and that you naturally enjoy doing. Write down everything that comes to mind, regardless of how impossible it may sound.
- Look for clues all around you. Make notes about projects and topics that you are compassionate about Write down what you are excited by. Reflect on the people who inspire you. Ask yourself why some activities make you happy and pay. In addition, pay special attention to the times which you are really enjoying what you are doing.
- Be patient in your search. You need to be willing to be introspective in order to identify the activities that you really enjoy and are truly satisfied by.
Consider Taking a Career Test
Now that you know what drives you, it is important to think about how these things can translate into a new career for you. While it may take a little research, you can find yourself pleasantly surprised by how many careers you find that are actually relevant to your motivations and goals.
You can find some possible career matches by taking a career assessment test. However, don’t get hung up here. Think of these tests merely as a means of self-discovery. Their question’s answers can tell you a lot about your temperament and what career would match these aspects of your personality. They can also help you identify what is important to you in a career, what you would like to do, and what areas you will probably excel in.
One of the career tests that is frequently used by colleges is the RIASEC/Holland interest scale. It will help you to identify 6 areas that you are especially drawn to. After you learn this information about yourself you will be able to look at some careers that match your interests.
Take a Look at Your Skills and Interests
Once you come to agreements about the general scope of your career path, you will need to look at your skill set. Consider what skills you already have, as well as those that you will need. Nobody ever has to start from scratch. There are always transferable skills that can be transferred from one career or job into the work of another career or job. Transferable skills are skills that you already have that can be used in almost any career.
These transferable skills include things like:
- Management skills
- Leadership experience
- Written and oral communication skills
- Research skills
- Program planning skills
- Public speaking skills
- Conflict resolution and mediation skills
- Effective time management skills
- Computer literacy
- Foreign languages that you may speak
You should not limit yourself only to your work and on the job experiences. Whenever you are thinking about your skills, think about everything, including your volunteer experience, hobbies you enjoy, and your life experiences. For instance, even though you may not have any formal leadership experience, you may have organized a toy drive and practiced leadership and management skills within the scope of that project.
Take a Look at Other Careers That Interest You
Once you narrow down some jobs you think you might enjoy, you should go online to research these jobs. You will find information describing the position, the salary you can expect, the training and skills required for the job, and the future and demand for the position. This helps you to answer questions like:
- How stable is this career?
- Are you comfortable with how much risk is involved?
- Is the salary range something that you find acceptable?
- Will you need to relocate?
- Will you need more or different training?
- How will your family be affected?
Get Other People’s Input
While you are working through this process it is important to get support and information from other people. This is vital because the information from your research and quizzes is nothing like the information you receive from people who are already working in your desired position. They will be able to give you a real sense of what the work entails and what tasks you will be performing. This is will let you know whether or not the job will meet your needs and expectations. These people will also be able to help you make connectionswhen you begin actively pursuing the career. Do not be intimidated by these contacts. Instead, treat them as an important part of your future and career development.
You might also want to think about going for career counseling. A job coach can be a great tool in career development. They are especially helpful when you are considering a major career change. Job coaches will be able to give you impartial advice that is not biased by personal motive or gain. They can help you think objectively regarding a career change.
Conclusion
Making a career change can be a scary process. Also, you may already be working in your “field of dreams”. The only way to find out is to ask yourself if you are happy with your job and career choices. Would you be happier to get up and go to work if you were doing something else? The question is yours to answer. If you do decide to take the plunge and shift from one career to another remember that success is relative to your peace of mind, money isn’t everything, and you really can do whatever it is that drives you.

Where's the You I've Come to Know?

Why are We Still Friends?
We do almost everything That lovers do And that why's it's hard Just to be friends with you And everytime your heart is broken By the fool I want you to know That it hurts me too It's hard to wipe your tears away Knowing you should be with me, tell me Chorus: Why, why are we still friends When everything says We should be more than what we are And tell me why Everytime I find someone that I like We always end up being just friends Verse 2 I would hate for you to find somebody new Who you really love Cause it could mean losing you But am I a fool girl not to say If I'm always scared I'll lose you anyway Somehow someway I've got to choose Got to choose no matter if it's win or lose (repeat chorus) Bridge: I don't want to be like your brother I don't want to be your best friend I only want to be your lover When will this end? If I told you that I want to be in your life? If you could be the woman in mine

Remember When...
(click here to watch video clip with this very touching music)
Remember when I was young and so were you
and time stood still and love was all we knew
You were the first, so was I
We made love and then you cried
Remember when
Remember when we vowed the vows
and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when
Remember when old ones died and new were born
And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged
We came together, fell apart
And broke each other's hearts
Remember when
Remember when the sound of little feet
was the music
We danced to week to week
Brought back the love, we found trust
Vowed we'd never give it up
Remember when
Remember when thirty seemed so old
Now lookn' back it's just a steppin' stone
To where we are,
Where we've been
Said we'd do it all again
Remember when
Remember when we said when we turned gray
When the children grow up and move away
We won't be sad, we'll be glad
For all the life we've had
And we'll remember when

A Little Too Not Over You

It never crossed my mind at all
That's what I tell myself
What we had has come and gone
You're better off with someone else
It's for the best I know it is but I see you
Sometimes I try to hide what I feel inside
And I turn around, you're with him now
I just can't figure it out
Tell me why you're so hard to forget
Don't remind me, I'm not over it
Tell me why I can't seem to face the truth
I'm just a little too not over you, not over you
Aren't memories supposed to fade?
What's wrong with my heart?
Shake it off, let it go
Didn't think it'd be this hard
Should be strong, movin' on but I see you
Sometimes I try to hide what I feel inside
And I turn around, you're with him now
I just can't figure it out
Tell me why you're so hard to forget
Don't remind me, I'm not over it
Tell me why I can't seem to face the truth
I'm just a little too not over you
Maybe I regret everything I said
No way to take it all back, yeah
Now I'm on my own, how I let you go
I'll never understand
I'll never understand!
Tell me why you're so hard to forget
Don't remind me, I'm not over it
Tell me why I can't seem to face the truth
I'm just a little too not over you
Tell me why you're so hard to forget
Don't remind me, I'm not over it
Tell me why I can't seem to face the truth
And I really don't know what to do
I'm just a little too not over you, not over you

Fallen - Sarah Mclachlan
Heaven bent to take my hand
And lead me through the fire
Be the long awaited answer
To a long and painful fight
Truth be told I've tried my best
But somewhere along the way
I got caught up in all there was to offer
And the cost was so much more than I could bear
Though I've tried, I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...
We all begin with good intent
Love was raw and young
We believed that we could change ourselves
The past could be undone
But we carry on our backs the burden
Time always reveals
The lonely light of morning
The wound that would not heal
It's the bitter taste of losing everything
That I have held so dear.
I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...
Heaven bent to take my hand
Nowhere left to turn
I'm lost to those I thought were friends
To everyone I know
Oh they turned their heads embarassed
Pretend that they don't see
But it's one missed step
You'll slip before you know it
And there doesn't seem a way to be redeemed
Though I've tried, I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...

MA-LUNG-KOT

May cancer sya.
Pmbihira, may biscuit pala, lumabas pa ako.
Habang nasa kusina kami:
Ellay: Andyan. Kaso hindi pa po napiprint.
Nanay: Halika, ayusin natin. Kasi ung apartment, gusto ko lalake, babae, lalake, babae. (ibig nyang sabihin, ipapamana nya sa anak nyang lalake, babae, lalake, babae. Apat kasi anak nila ni Tatay. Sakto sa apartment nilang apat na pinto)
Ellay: O sige, pero bukas na. Gabi na eh.
Nanay: *ngumiti.
As in matanda na talaga. Naligwak lang sya dahil sa katandaan. Wala kasing sakit un eh)
Ellay: Wala syang sakit dati Nay eh no?
E pano daw pag tumuktok sya? Sabi ko, sige lang. Katok ka lang. Basta pag kumatok ka, bababa ako. Matulog na kayo. Good night, sabi ko.
